various colored thumbs

For several months now I've been convinced that I'm killing, or rather, not enabling to continue living, the orchid in our dining room.  The leaves have one by one been turning yellow, shriveling, falling off.  HOWEVER!  This morning on one of the rare occasions when I remembered to mist it, I noticed a new sprout of leaves in the back!  So perhaps it's outlook is not so bad!
